Context
As of Cobalt v. 4.0+, profile setup on the Cobalt Portal is done through Microsoft Entra for initial user creation; the traditional Profile Setup form where the user will enter additional demographic information remains the same.
Profile Setup
Customers have the ability to set up a profile where they can see and manage their demographic and application information, view and pay their orders, and register for events. When navigating to your portal URL, they will see a sign-in screen. If they have already created a profile, they can enter their email address and continue. To create a profile, they will click "No account? Create one".
Once in the Profile Setup process, the user will need to enter a valid email address, then click Next.
They will receive an email with a verification (MFA) code from Microsoft to enter and proceed to the next step.
The user will set a password, and enter their first name, preferred name, and last name. (Additional fields like Job Title are configurable by your organization.) They will also need to click the checkbox to agree to the Privacy Policy.
The system will then process the account creation and login, and redirect to the Cobalt Portal on the first page of the traditional Profile Setup form. Any fields filled in in step 3 will be pre-filled with those values. The user can review their Name information and add any of the optional info, then click Continue.
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions, then click Continue.
- Note: The Terms are configurable; see Create or Edit Page Text for more information.
On the next page, the user will enter at least 1 phone number, then click Continue.
- Note: The user may choose which phone number to provide (Home, Cell, or Business).
Next, the user will need to provide their Mailing Address information. The required fields are City, State/Province, Zip/Postal Code, and Country.
Last is Billing Address Information, which can be set to the Same As Mailing Address, or entered fresh if it's a different address.
If there are no other custom questions configured, the profile setup completes at this stage and the customer now can log in to the portal.
If additional information is collected, additional pages can be setup using the Profile Update Form functionality as described in this article: Where to Use Forms.
