GENERAL
- Name - The name of the Election
- Award - Look up to Award record (if applicable)
- Meeting - Look up to Meeting (if applicable)
- Committee - Look up to Committee (if applicable)
- Committee Position - Look up to Committee Position (if applicable)
- Publish to Portal - Yes to show the election on the portal. No to keep the election for internal use only.
ELECTION DATES
Nomination Begin and End Dates: These are optional and values can be entered if you are accepting Nominations. If you enter a Nomination Begin Date, you must enter a Nomination End Date.
- Nomination Begin Date - Date Nominations will be accepted and the nominate button will show up on the portal.
- Nomination End Date - Date Nominations will no longer be accepted and the nominate button will no longer be displayed on the portal.
Voting Begin and End Dates: These are optional and values can be entered if you are accepting Votes. If you enter a Voting Begin Date, you must enter a Voting End Date.
- Voting Begin Date - Date votes can be entered and the Vote button will display on the portal.
- Voting End Date - Date votes can no longer be accepted and the Vote button will no longer be displayed on the portal.
NOMINATIONS
If you're allowing Nominations, guidelines can be set in this section.
- Multiple Nominations Allowed - Yes to allow people to enter more than one nomination for the election. No will limit people to one nomination.
- Write In Nominations Allowed - Yes to allow people to write-in nominees who are not existing contacts. No to require people to select form existing contacts.
- Self Nominations Allowed - Yes to allow people to nominate themselves. No to remove the option for self nomination.
- Max Number of Nominations - If allowing Multiple Nominations, set the maximum number here.
- Nomination Form - If asking additional questions as part of the nomination process, link to a form here.
- Display Candidate Nominations - If candidates should be able to see their nominations on the portal click Yes. If candidates should not see what they've been nominated for select no.
VOTING
- Voting Scale - Single Scale provides a Yes or No option to voters. Multi-Scale allows you to set a numerical voting range.
- Voting Scale Minimum - If using Multi-Scale, select the lowest numerical value of the scale.
- Voting Scale - Maximum - If using Multi-Scale, select the highest numerical value of the scale.
- Voting Form - If asking additional questions as part of the voting process, link to a form here.
- Max Number of Votes - Set a number to allow voters to select one or multiple candidates.
Queries on the Election Record
The Election record has three queries available. All queries can be accessed in the toolbar by clicking More Commands (...). Select the query and enter criteria, just as you would if creating an Advanced Find. Make sure to Save the query before closing it.
- Nominee Query - use this query to limit which Contacts are able to be nominated.
- Nominator Query - use this query to identify which Contacts can make a nomination.
- Voter Query - use this query to determine which Contacts are able to vote.
