Where to Make Customizations

CRM allows you to make changes in a few different places. Based on what  you want to do and how long you want your updates to last there are a few different ways to customize forms, views, entities, and other system settings. See options below to determine the best option for you.

1. Make Customizations in the Unmanaged Solution

If you know that the changes you are making should be part of your system on a permanent basis, meaning that you don't want to risk seeing them rolled over in a future release, this is the preferred option. Your consulting team can more easily get your changes from the unmanaged solution and include them in future rollouts.

2. Make Updates to the Default Solution in the Customizations Menu

If you are trying something out or want something on a more temporary basis you can add it to the current customizations. If you don't have an unmanaged solution you must make changes here. Just know that these updates may not be included in future releases.

3. From the Views List click Create Personal View

This will open an advanced find query where you can create a custom view. If you have filtered the current view you can also save the current view changes or create a new view.
