Both system and personal charts can be created. System charts (created in customizations/unmanaged solutions) are visible to all users. Personal charts can be created by any user and can only be seen by that user (unless shared). Because all charts are based on views, the view that the chart is based on must be created before the chart.
Select the entity for your Chart.
Select the More Commands button select Chart Pane
You'll be given the option to choose Top (chart will show at top of screen), Right (chart will show at right of screen) Off (chart will show off screen useful if you have multiple monitors, not if you have one monitor).
A current chart will open if you have any and you can click on arrow by the chart title and you will be able to select any currently existing chart.
To create a new chart click the + sign in the chart toolbar.
Create a Name for the chart in the top Row
Select the type of chart by clicking the chart icon.
Your options are Bar Chart, Column Chart, Area Chart, Line Chart, Pie Chart, or Funnel Chart.
Set the Legend Entries (Series) and Horizontal (Category) Axis Labels.
Save Your chart.
Once complete, charts can be added to dashboards. Note that system charts can be added to system dashboards and personal dashboards, but personal charts can only be added to personal dashboards. If you want someone to have access to a personal chart you must share it.
Modifying or Sharing a Chart can be done by reopening the chart and clicking the more commands button in the chart window.
