Initial Certification Application Extension

As of Cobalt 4.1, Staff Members can set the duration of time a candidate can keep their application open as they work on completing requirements. If candidates need more time to complete work experience, submit letters of recommendations, and pass exams, they can pay for extensions to that duration. This confirms that only candidates who meet the standard are eligible for certification. At this time, staff cannot set limits on the number of extensions that can be paid for.

Initial Certification Application Type

Initial Application Period in Days: defines the number of days that the initial application will remain valid.

Grace Period in Days: defines the number of days after the initial application term that the candidate will still be able to complete or extend their application period.

Extension Period in Days: defines the number of days that the initial application’s term will be extended as valid, upon purchase of the extension product.

Extension Product: this lookup sets the product that will be used upon purchase of extension.

Portal

Contacts that have a submitted Initial Certification Application where the Application Window End Date is in the past will see the ability to extend their application window.

In the cart, the extension product displays the “Current Application Window” value (this may reflect the manual testing steps above), and the “Extended Application Window” (calculated as the Current Application Window End Date + “Extension Period in Days” set on the application Type).

Once checkout has been completed, the Submitted Certifications tile will update with a new “Reregistration Required By” date.

In CRM, the “Number of Extensions” field has now been populated or increased by 1.
