Exam Sections are a new addition for Cobalt 4.1. They are child records of Exam Types. Reference the How to Set up Exam Type records and Test records article for specific steps.
- Name - name of the Exam Section in the system.
- Exam Type (Lookup) - a lookup field to the Exam Type that this Section is specific to.
-
Import Identifier - optional text field that is used for importing test results for a testing vendor integration.
- Test Application Section Results are matched to corresponding results in the result file based on this Import Identifier value.
-
Pass Threshold - optional number field that is used for importing test results for a testing vendor integration.
- Test Application Section Results are marked as Passed/Failed if the value in the result file is greater than or equal to this Pass Threshold value.
Exam Section Limits
Exam Sections have their own child record, Exam Section Results, which are also related to Exam records. Exam Sections are meant to allow for individually graded sections of an Exam that can fulfill the Exam requirement of a Certification Type.
As part of this setup, the parent Exam Type has three additional fields under the Exam Sections header:
- Individual Failed Section Limit - This field indicates the number of times a unique section can be failed before the entire test requires a full retake.
- Total Failed Section Limit - This field indicates how many sections can be failed in one instance before the entire test requires a full retake.
- Exam Section Fail Limit - This field indicates how many sections can be failed and still pass the exam.
When individual Exam records are created, these values are used to calculate a failure state based on how many child Exam Section Result records are present with the Inactive – Failed status – status reason.
