As of Cobalt 3.11+, you can now add the ability for certification holders to extend their certification's expiration date for a fee(and also increase the amount of Continuing Education Units required) on the portal.
Set-Up
Certification Type
- Renewal Extension Product - Lookup to product that will be used when attempting to extended the certification.
- Renewal Extension Term - Whole number of how long the certification should extend to.
- Renewal Extension Term Unit - Option set of how long the certification should extend to.
- Renewal Extension Additional Units Required - Whole number of additional units required to renew the certification.
Continuing Certification Application
- Extended Renewal - Yes/No flag that determines if the end user should have the option to extend their certification.
Process on the portal
- Certificate holder logs on to the portal
- Clicks the Extend your Renewal Window
- Extension product is added to the cart
- Certificate holder goes through the payment process
- Upon receiving the receipt, the expiration date is updated based on the settings on the Certification Type record
- Certificate holder will also see the the required Continuing Education Units increased as set on the Certification Type record
- When the Certificate holder goes through the renewal process the Flagged for Audit and Extended Renewal fields will be set to Yes
