As a part of the initial and Continuing Certification application process you can require end users to submit Continuing Education Activities to qualify for their Certification. Continuing Education Activities count for a certification if it is within the Certification Cycle dates.
Continuing Education Category Requirement
Within the Certification Type record you can add related Continuing Education Category Requirements. This record(s) is used to determine if a contact is able to receive/renew their certification
Fields:
Name: Name of the Category Requirement
Category: Lookup to Continuing Education Category
Continuing Education Category is a record that tracks the different Categories

Certification Type: Lookup to Certification Type
Required Amount: Amount of continuing category units required

Continuing Certification Application Type
CEUs Required field: Yes or No field that determines if/when a contact attempts to renew the system will look for any Continuing Education Category Requirements and require the contact to submit Continuing Education Activities.

Where to submit Continuing Education Activities
Renewal Process:
When a contact is able to begin the renewal process, they will reach the Continuing Certification Application Education Activities page. On this page it will show you a count of Submitted CEUs, Required CEUs, the required categories, a list of Continuing Education Activities.
Ad-Hoc:
When a contact wants to add a Continuing Education Activity at any point before the expiration, they can do so using the Add Continuing Education Activities to your Profile link on the portal.
